Okay, I don't think we should call it "longarm quilting" anymore- I think we should call it "two weeks of ruler work and 8 hours of fun".
I was going to outline all of those colorful blocks in a neutral thread. Mom went ahead and ordered some monofilament thread for me because of all the colors. The outlines are now all completed. She was right of course (mom usually is) and thankfully it doesn't tick me off as much as when I was twelve. What a pain to work with invisible thread!!! I could hardly thread the machine. Did I mention this is the FIRST full size quilt that I am doing by myself? Sometimes I think I get challenged way too much!
stitched in variegated thread.
Theri, you are a lady of many talents! Your quilt would be beautiful if you never took another stitch on it, but with your pretty longarm quilting, it is going to be awesome! I can't wait to see it finished. ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI used monofilament thr ad in an early quilt, before I had a walking foot and frankly didn't know what I was doing. Which was probably for the best as nowadays I'm not too keen to use it again! Your quilting looks amazing - I think once you get cracking you are going to have another artistic outlet and a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And you're brave to use invisible thread! (I've vowed never, but you know how saying never goes...) You're doing an amazing job with the longarm and I can't wait to see what goes into the white sections.
